This is a periodical which enables the literature- lover to have some sense of what is going on in the literary world of many countries and cultures whose works do not make it to mainstream American literary attention.
given to me as a gift February 6, 2009 Suz (Pawtucket, RI USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I received a copy of this periodical for my birthday with the promise of a subscription if I like it. Its selections are fascinating, and its photographs and illustrations are very well done. There are poems and essays included from award-winning writers from around the world. Anyone who is interested in literature and world culture will find it intriguing. Make sure you have paper and pen by your side to jot down authors' names for further investigation. Of course I will tell my husband to get me a subscription so that I can enjoy my birthday present all year!

I subscribed to WLT as a gift for my wife, who is an avid reader and we have both thoroughly enjoyed the first issue.
